there are a few tribute bands like Darkstar Orchestra and The DeadGuise who's lead guitars are very Jerryesque in their style. IMO, when they play Dead songs, well, Jerry's improv-noodling style is what I'd like to hear with Phil & Friends. Trey comes close

closest ive heard with Phil's many incarnations is Kimock. would love to see him do a few more shows with Phil. chances seem slim to none though.
trey's playing can strike my ears as a little harsh sometimes. a bit too solo oriented (i know that doesn't explain it well - it is just my ears)

i brainfreezed on that...Kimock! of course!
the Phil & Friends shows with Kimock and Trey worked together well in a Dead Vibe...With Phish, Trey gets abit sonic, but slower melodic tunes like Roggae are sweet 'n noodlin
